THE OLD TURKISH BATH- HAMMAM ON RIBNICA RIVER

 

 

The old Turkish bath complex, Podgorica's largest remaining historical building, is located in a rather hidden location on the Ribnica river gorge, east of the city centre. The bathhouse was unfortunately demolished by city planners who insisted on building a bridge following the grid structure of the city. Roofless, it now lies in the shadow of the Novi Most bridge, but has been transformed into a brilliant cultural centre which is well worth a visit, despite nothing remaining of the original interior.
